Out My Window
Humans have a strange fascination for what we don’t have. When we were kids we promised our parents if they only gave us this fabulous toy, we would be happy for ever more. If we are fortunate, we save up and buy the latest must-have gadget, date our crush, land that dream job. But we all keep looking.
I remember a cartoon of a dog standing at the screen door, saying to his owner (it’s a cartoon, right!)- “Hurry up and let me in, so I can ask to go out again!”. Maybe what we are not, what is external to us, helps us understand what we are.
